Vernon RCMP are investigating after a suspicious vehicle fled at high speed after police attempted to pull it over last week.<\/p>\n
An officer attempted the traffic stop on 24 Avenue after spotting the suspicious vehicle at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 15, RCMP said.<\/p>\n
However, the vehicle failed to stop and sped away from the officer driving dangerously. Police deemed the situation too dangerous to pursue the vehicle.<\/p>\n
With assistance from the public and multiple officers, the vehicle was found abandoned on Okanagan Avenue.<\/p>\n
One of the occupants of the vehicle, which had been reported stolen, was located nearby and arrested, RCMP said.<\/p>\n
The suspect was later released from custody.<\/p>\n
