As the snow continues to fall, the City of Kelowna is sending out a friendly reminder to the motoring public to avoid parking their vehicles on the street.<\/p>\n
The City said that a temporary parking ban is now in effect for snow routes.<\/p>\n
The routes are: Academy Way, Black Mountain, Clifton\/Magic Estates\/Wilden, Dilworth Mountain, Kirschner Mountain, McKinley Beach and areas in the South Mission, including The Ponds.<\/p>\n
"Residents parked on the street will have 24 hours to find alternative off-street parking before enforcement begins," Roadways Operations manager Andrew Schwerdtfeger said in the release.<\/p>\n
"Residents not living on a snow route are still encouraged to move their vehicles off the road to help plows clear the snow from curb to curb safely and quickly.”<\/p>\n
Schwerdtfeger is also reminding residents and business owners that they are responsible for clearing the snow off sidewalks adjacent to their property.<\/p>\n
