DriveBC is getting ready to transition to a new website later this month. Drivers around B.C., including in Thompson-Okanagan region, could be getting a better platform to find out about what\u2019s happening on the roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transition to the new site is starting on June 19, after more than a year in development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The site is supposed to be easier to use and more reliable for when British Columbians are planning a trip or encounter incidents on the road so folks can get the latest information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Transportation said the new site is going to be geared towards people viewing it on their phones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A preview of what the site will look like is already available in its beta version on DriveBC.ca.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere will be a simplified map and a less cluttered look. The site will offer clearer event notifications and new advisory features. New route planning will focus information about specified trips. There will also be a stronger focus on the mobile experience, which is how most people access the site,\u201d the ministry said in a press release last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Email subscribers have been advised to resubscribe by June 18 to continue getting notifications during the transition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
