A man walked himself into custody last week after parking a stolen truck outside of the Kelowna RCMP detachment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Michael Scott Miller, 43, went to pick up a friend from jail, but ended up dropping himself off at 12 p.m. on June 12, according to a press release from police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers noticed a suspicious white Ford F350 in an apartment complex in the 700-block of Coronation Avenue. Police watched Miller park the truck and walk to the RCMP detachment a block away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Miller was in the jail waiting area of the police station, officers checked the truck and confirmed it had been reported stolen from Penticton a week earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Miller was arrested without incident. He has been charged with possession of stolen property, driving while disqualified and two counts of failing to comply with probation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe circumstances of this arrest were definitely not common and made our job much easier,\u201d Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay said in the release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
