cheerfulness, not car accidents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When this magical time of year comes around there are hundreds of car crashes around B.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just in case you need another reminder to drive safely during the holidays, ICBC has some data on annual Christmas and New Year\u2019s car crashes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For data purposes, ICBC considers Dec. 24 to Dec. 26 to be the Christmas period, while New Year&#8217;s is from 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 to midnight on Jan. 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are a few statistics you don\u2019t want to be included in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>1,636:<\/strong> Car crashes happen in B.C. during the Christmas period each year, on average.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>3: <\/strong>People are killed in car crashes during the Christmas period each year in B.C., on average.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>357:<\/strong> People are injured in car crashes during the Christmas period each year in B.C., on average.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>232:<\/strong> Car crashes happen in the Southern Interior during the Christmas periods each year, on average.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1:<\/strong> Person is killed each New Year\u2019s\u00a0in B.C., on average.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>246:<\/strong> People are injured in car crashes each New Year\u2019s in B.C., on average.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>939:<\/strong> Car crashes happen in B.C. each New Year\u2019s, on average.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>159:<\/strong> Car crashes happen in the Southern Interior each New Year\u2019s, on average.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>9:
