Officers with Kelowna RCMP’s traffic section handed out more than two dozen tickets to drivers during a distracted driving crackdown Tuesday on a busy road in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During what police called “proactive targeted enforcement” on Enterprise Way near Banks Road, officers ticketed 22 drivers for using a cell phone while driving, one for having tinted windows and one with no insurance, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Jan. 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RCMP said during the enforcement campaign officers arrested two shoplifting suspects, one believed to be responsible for three separate thefts. The shoplifting suspects were also issued two violation tickets and one had their car impounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
