Two stolen vehicles were recovered and three suspects arrested after an RCMP chase in the North Okanagan Monday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It all started at approximately 9:45 p.m., Jan. 12, in Grindrod when police got a report of a stolen pickup truck, according to an RCMP media release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The caller said an SUV drove onto their property and a person jumped out and stole their pickup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both vehicles fled with the owner following his stolen truck south on Highway 97A while giving RCMP updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“One of the responding officers intercepted the stolen truck while a second officer coordinated the deployment of a spike belt further south on Highway 97A,” the release reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The spike belt was effective, and the truck was disabled and became stuck in a field near Lansdowne Road.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The driver was arrested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members of the public tipped off police about the second suspect vehicle, the SUV, saying it was on Powerhouse Road. Officers arrived and arrested the two people inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
