The province is going after a Kelowna sex offender\u2019s pickup truck, alleging that he used the vehicle to meet up with a teen and sexually assault them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The BC Director of Civil Forfeiture filed in court Jan. 27, in an attempt to seize Alexander Schoenherr\u2019s 2023 Dodge Ram, which was seized by the RCMP following his arrest in August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court documents don\u2019t go into much detail but say that Schoenherr used the truck to transport a person under the age of 16 and then sexually assault them. The incident took place Aug. 12, 2025, near Metchosin on Vancouver Island. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was later charged with sexual assault and sexual interference of a person under 16. He remains in custody as his case moves through the court system. That was just six weeks after police allege he committed more sexual offences in Salmon Arm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe vehicle is an instrument of unlawful activity,\u201d the court documents say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The BC Director of Civil Forfeiture has the power to apply to the court to seize property from individuals, regardless of whether they\u2019ve been charged or convicted. It\u2019s more commonly used to confiscate property and assets bought with the proceeds of crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe vehicle has been used by A. Schoenherr to engage in unlawful activities, which variously resulted in, or caused, or could have resulted in serious bodily harm,\u201d the court documents say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court documents don\u2019t give a dollar value, but according to Autotrader, the vehicle is worth between $24,000 and $31,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
