A Kelowna man is facing charges in connection to an assault and carjacking of a week ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Officers were called to a report of an assault and car theft at around 11:23 a.m., Feb. 12, near Ambrosi Road and Agassiz Road in Kelowna, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Feb. 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RCMP said the person who made the complaint and the suspect were acquaintances and had been arguing. The suspect allegedly assaulted the acquaintance and stole their vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect fled on Glenmore Road north and was involved in at least two crashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vehicle was tracked by RCMP air services and the suspect was arrested at a gas station in Vernon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
James Wilkinson appeared in court, Feb. 13, and was charged with robbery , theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failure to stop after an accident and will be back in court later this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
