A person riding a dirt bike was killed in a crash with an SUV Tuesday afternoon on Highway 8, according to Merritt RCMP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RCMP said the dirt bike hit the SUV and the rider was tossed. The collision happened around 5:31 p.m., March 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFirst responders located the rider with critical injuries and performed living saving measures, however, the rider succumbed to their injuries at the scene,\u201d reads an RCMP media release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The person behind the wheel of the SUV was treated at the scene of the crash for minor injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The highway was closed during the investigation by the BC RCMP Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RCMP don\u2019t say in the release where exactly on Highway 8 the crash happened. RCMP don\u2019t identify the person who died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
