Fire-tracking satellites from NASA suggest the explosions happened near Mount Soffeh, an area believed to have military positions.<\/p>\n<p>The videos show massive fireballs and secondary explosions common with ammunition igniting in a blaze.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has not formally acknowledged the attack.<\/p>\n<p>Isfahan is home to one of three uranium enrichment sites bombed by the U.S. in the 12-day day between Iran and Israel in June. A portion of Iran\u2019s highly enriched uranium is believed to be entombed there \u2014 something America has suggested it could seize with ground forces.<\/p>\n<p>Latest reports of live fire<\/p>\n<ul>\n<p>1. Airstrikes hit around Iran\u2019s capital, Tehran, early Tuesday morning. The Israeli military earlier issued a warning online that it was planning a strike in Vardavard, a western neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>2. A drone interception caused minor damage to six homes in a residential area in Al Kharj, southeast of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but no injuries were reported, the country\u2019s civil defense said. Al Kharj is the site of a U.S. airbase where previous strikes killed at least two migrant workers and an American soldier.<\/p>\n<p>3. Israel\u2019s military warned the public of an incoming missile barrage from Iran on Tuesday, the day\u2019s first. Sirens sounded in Jerusalem a short while later and loud booms were heard.<\/p>\n<\/ul>\n<p>2 Indonesian UN peacekeepers died on escort duty in Lebanon<\/p>\n<p>Two Indonesian United Nations peacekeepers have died while on escort duty in support of UNIFIL operations in southern Lebanon. The Indonesian Ministry of Defense said in a written statement on Tuesday that two other soldiers were also seriously injured amid intensifying hostilities in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added that the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation by UNIFIL in accordance with established procedures.<\/p>\n<p>An Indonesian soldier was reported to have died and several other injured the previous day in his area of deployment as a result of the conflict taking place in the operational zone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the safety of peacekeeping forces must be the top priority,\u201d the statement said. \u201cAll parties involved in the conflict are expected to respect international humanitarian law and ensure the safety of peacekeeping personnel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Drone hits a Kuwaiti oil tanker in Dubai waters, causing a fire, Dubai Media Office says<\/p>\n<p>Authorities brought the fire under control and extinguished it, the Dubai Media Office said. All 24 crew members are safe, and no injuries have been reported, the office said.<\/p>\n<p>The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center, run by the British military, reported the strike, saying the vessel was 31 nautical miles (57 kilometers) northwest of Dubai.<\/p>\n<p>It said an unknown projectile struck their tanker on the starboard side, causing a fire on the vessel. So did a spokesperson for Iran\u2019s Foreign Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>Qalibaf said the U.S. was promoting \u201cdesires as news while threatening our nation at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said no negotiations had taken place, while confirming that intermediaries had delivered a set of proposals to Iran. He said Iran would \u201cnot forget the betrayal that was inflicted upon diplomacy in two instances within less than a year,\u201d referencing the June 2025 and February 2026 indirect talks that preceded attacks by Israel and the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Trump last week floated the prospect of negotiations, temporarily easing some spikes in oil prices. Iranian officials later denied talks were taking place. It said Abo Eshagh had volunteered intermittently for 22 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe killing of Soumaya, and any attack on humanitarians, is unacceptable and must be condemned. We continue to call for the protection of humanitarian teams who risk everything to save lives \u2014 this is a moral and legal obligation,\u201d the group said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>It said Abo Eshagh was the second medical worker to be killed in Iran and that 17 had been injured since Israel and the U.S. launched the war on Feb. 28.<\/p>\n<p>US stocks waver in shaky trading as oil prices keep climbing<\/p>\n<p>The S&amp;P 500 fell 0.1% in Monday afternoon trading, coming off <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/investors-war-trump-portfolio-stocks-401k-909716663d11c41c9a87fa8ee9a19c08\" rel=\"noopener\">its worst week<\/a> since the war with Iran began. Leavitt did not detail who the U.S. is speaking with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnything that they say to us privately will be tested and we will ensure that they are being held accountable to their word,\u201d Leavitt said.<\/p>\n<p>Rubio says Trump has options to reopen critical waterway<\/p>\n<p>Three days after saying U.S. ground troops would not be needed to achieve U.S. goals in Iran, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump has \u201coptions available\u201d to deal with Iran\u2019s threats to control the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>Rubio told ABC\u2019s \u201cGood Morning America\u201d on Monday that diplomacy is Trump\u2019s top preference but after being asked twice about any plans for U.S. ground troops, didn\u2019t repeat the assertion he made Friday that the step wouldn\u2019t be necessary to achieve the administration\u2019s objectives.<\/p>\n<p>Trump threatened Monday to blow up Iranian civilian infrastructure if the strait isn\u2019t opened.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, they are making threats about controlling the Hormuz Strait in perpetuity, creating a tolling system and the like,\u201d Rubio said. \u201cThat\u2019s not going to be allowed to happen. And the president has a number of options available to him, if he so chooses, to prevent that from happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UN condemns the killing of peacekeepers in southern Lebanon<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre Lacroix, the United Nations\u2019 peacekeeping chief, told reporters Monday that the world body condemns the \u201cunacceptable incidents\u201d that killed three Indonesian peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, where Israel is battling the Iran-backed Hezbollah.<\/p>\n<p>The peacekeeping mission known as UNIFIL did not say who was responsible for the deaths overnight and into Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeacekeepers must never be targeted,\u201d Lacroix said. \u201cUNIFIL is investigating these incidents to determine the circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Lacroix was asked if he would describe Israel\u2019s ongoing operations in southern Lebanon as an \u201cinvasion,\u201d he said that given Israeli military statements and actions, \u201cit certainly looks like we might end up with, I would call it, an expanded buffer zone in southern Lebanon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cNow what width, what breadth, what size, what all of this, of course, is very difficult to assess.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump says the US is negotiating with Iran\u2019s parliamentary speaker<\/p>\n<p>The president confirmed the talks with Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf in an interview with the New York Post published on Monday, as Trump pressures Iran\u2019s government to reach a deal to end the monthlong war.<\/p>\n<p>He told the publication that he\u2019ll \u201clet you know that in about a week\u201d when asked whether the speaker was someone that the U.S. could work with.<\/p>\n<p>Qalibaf, a 64-year-old pilot and former Revolutionary Guard commander, has denied there have been discussions with the U.S. amid reports that he was floated as Washington\u2019s negotiating partner.<\/p>\n<p>Three UN peacekeepers have been killed in southern Lebanon in the past 24 hours<\/p>\n<p>Two more United Nations peacekeepers in southern Lebanon were killed Monday, the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon known as UNIFIL said.<\/p>\n<p>An explosion of \u201cunknown origin\u201d destroyed their vehicle near the village of Bani Hayyan and also wounded two peacekeepers, one severely.<\/p>\n<p>All three peacekeepers who were killed were from the Indonesian army, said Jean-Pierre Lacroix, under-secretary-general for peace operations. The first was killed when a base was hit by a projectile, UNIFIL said.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson Kandice Ardiel earlier said two of the wounded peacekeepers could not be immediately accessed due to \u201clack of security guarantees\u201d following the explosion.
