SMITHERS \u2014 Two Good Samaritans who stopped on the side of a British Columbia highway to help another driver have been struck by a truck, killing one man and seriously injuring the other, as well as the driver of the truck.<\/p>\n
The BC Highway Patrol says the crash happened last Thursday on Highway 16 outside Witset in central B.C. at about 8:30 p.m., when a grey flatbed pickup pulled over due to a mechanical issue.<\/p>\n
The drivers of two other vehicles stopped and got out to help, when a Chevrolet SUV crashed into the stationary pickup.<\/p>\n
A 60-year-old man from Witset in central B.C. was killed while a 45-year-old Calgary man was seriously hurt, as was the 42-year-old Witset man driving the SUV.<\/p>\n
Investigators say alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.<\/p>\n
Police are looking for witnesses who can speak to the driver’s behaviour in the hours before the collision.<\/p>\n
