Some gorgeous spring weather is here, so it\u2019s time for road works in Kamloops and the Okanagan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kelowna<\/a> has 20 projects that are set to have some impact on traffic, in Penticton<\/a> there are 13 ongoing projects affecting traffic and two more coming up, Vernon<\/a> has three, and in Kamloops<\/a> there are three significant road works projects, according to each city\u2019s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Kelowna, the intersection at Springfield Road and Rutland Road South will be closed until the end of May for the construction of a roundabout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The city is connecting north and south portions of Burtch Road between Denver Road and K.L.O. Road, which is set to be finished at the start of May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bertram Street from Bernard Avenue to Leon Avenue will be closed from April 7 to May 1 for road repairs, new sidewalks and islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Penticton, a section of road around 690 Lakeshore Drive West will be closed from April 8 to 13, while most of the other road works projects aren\u2019t set for full closures, just lane closures or single lane alternating traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The City of Vernon plans on rebuilding 475 metres of road, adding multi-use pathways, fixing storm and sanitary sewers along Kalamalka Lake Road from 14 Avenue to Highway 6. The plan is to have the $780,000 project finished by the end of this construction season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some improvements on 43 Avenue are also supposed to be finished this summer, including a new multi-use path and a roundabout at Old Kamloops Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Kamloops, the Tranquille Road project is supposed to be entering its third phase, with the entire project expected to be done by the end of the construction season.
