A 40-year-old man is facing several charges after he visited the Kamloops RCMP detachment last week driving a stolen car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A man was at the detachment at around 4 p.m., May 15, on an unrelated and non-criminal matter, and when he jumped into a white Honda CR-V to leave police noticed a \u201cregulatory infraction\u201d and tried to stop him, according to an RCMP media release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The suspect drove into a residential neighbourhood with RCMP in pursuit but the chase was called off out of concerns for public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two days later, officers knocked on the suspect\u2019s door and arrested him. They found the stolen CR-V that had been stolen in Kamloops earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A search of his home turned up a suppressor for a firearm, which is a prohibited device, and other items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sean Kevin Goudie, born in 1986, has been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance, flight from police, possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of a prohibited device knowing it is unauthorized and mischief in relation to the lawful use of property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
