North Okanagan RCMP targeted speeding drivers on three high-risk roads in the region Tuesday handing out several tickets and impounding three vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The crack down was conducted, May 26, on Highway 97 and 97A along with Westside Road, according to an RCMP media release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSpeeding and aggressive driving is a serious concern and we\u2019re going to target and remove these drivers from the road,\u201d RCMP Const. Chris Terleski said in the release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An SUV doing 151 km\/h in a 100 km\/h zone on Highway 97A near Greenhow Road had their vehicle impounded for excessive speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Later in the day, also on Highway 97A near the same intersection, a motorcyclist was clocked going 167 km\/h in a 100 km\/h zone. They were fined and had their bike impounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A motorcyclist was caught travelling 128 km\/h in a 60 km\/h zone on Westside Road near Six Mile Creek Road. The rider, who didn\u2019t have a licence, will have to pay several fines. He was arrested on outstanding warrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
