A 72-year-old man was killed riding an ATV in Peachland Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fatal crash happened at around 4:30 p.m., July 29, in the former Gladstone Mine area near the 4600 block of Ponderosa Road, according to an RCMP media release issued today, July 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RCMP said he was travelling with a companion on the off-road trails when they became separated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 72-year-old’s ATV left the trail and went down a step embankment, rolled and came to rest against trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Search and rescue volunteers helped police access the scene and recover the rider\u2019s body and the ATV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RCMP say drugs and alcohol were not factors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
RCMP and BC Coroners Service are both investigating the fatal crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
