The southern part of the province, including Vancouver, had the most impaired drivers and parts of the Interior like Thompson-Okanagan had the fewest.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur officers did notice improvements in some of our usual check stops in 2026, but we are intercepting far too many people who choose to drive while impaired,\u201d BC Highway Patrol\u2019s Supt. Lori Orstad said in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are the numbers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>6: <\/strong>Weeks. That\u2019s how long the campaign was from June 15 to July 31.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>229:<\/strong> Impaired drivers were caught through the BC Highway Patrol summer campaign.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>24: <\/strong>Impaired drivers were busted in central BC this year, including Kelowna, Kamloops, Merritt and Clearwater.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>97:<\/strong> Impaired drivers were busted in the South Coast this year, including Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Sunshine Coast.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>32:<\/strong> Impaired drivers were busted on Vancouver Island.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>13:<\/strong> Impaired drivers were busted in the Kootenay region including Revelstoke, Nelson, Cranbrook and Golden.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>58:<\/strong> Impaired drivers were busted in Northern BC, including most communities north of 100 Mile House.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>150: <\/strong>Impaired drivers were busted in the South Coast last year when the drunk driving enforcement campaign was 10 weeks long, including Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Sunshine Coast.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>111:<\/strong> Impaired drivers were busted in central BC last year when the drunk driving enforcement campaign was 10 weeks long, including Kelowna, Kamloops, Merritt
