It’s a chilly morning and drivers are being warned of wintery conditions on some Interior highways.<\/p>\n
Drive B.C. is warning<\/a> drivers of compact ice on Highway 1 from Spences Bridge Cache Creek; as well as on Highway 97C from the Highland Valley Copper Mine to Ashcroft.<\/p>\n Compact snow has been reported on Highway 1 from Jackass Mountain Summit to Spences Bridge, and from Cache Creek to Kamloops.<\/p>\n Slippery sections have been reported on Highway 3 between Princeton and Osoyoos; Highway 97 from Osoyoos to Kelowna and from Coldstream to Vernon; Highway 97A from Enderby to Sicamous; Highway 97B from Black road to the end of the highway; and on Westside Road.<\/p>\n Commuter Charles Andrews, who travels from Armstrong to Sicamous each morning via Highway 97A, said the roads were mostly bare and dry the entire way this morning.<\/p>\n In weather, Kamloops<\/a> is sitting at -16 Celsius and temperatures are only expected to warm up to -13 C, according to Environment Canada. It’s -13 C in Vernon<\/a> with a high of -10 and a chance. In Kelowna<\/a> it’s -13 C and warming up to -10 C. And in Penticton<\/a> it’s -10 C with a high of -6 C. There is a chance of flurries throughout the region beginning around 4 p.m.<\/p>\n At Big White Ski Resort<\/a> there has been no new snow to fall but 60 centimetres over the last week.
