The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is searching for a stolen vehicle after it was left unattended by the owner while running.<\/p>\n
On Oct. 20, around 8 a.m., the police received a report of a stolen pickup truck outside a residence on Brickyard Road in Enderby, according to a release. The owner had left the vehicle running with the intent to warm it up but left it unattended with the keys in it.<\/p>\n
The RCMP is now reminding people, as temperatures drop, to not leave their vehicles unattended with keys in them.<\/p>\n
“Never leave a vehicle with the keys in it unattended,” says Const. Chris Terleski, Media Relations Officer for the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, in the release. “Thefts of vehicles and thefts from vehicles are predominately crimes of opportunity and it only takes a second for a thief to jump in and drive away. If you’re going to warm your vehicle, stay in it or use a remote starter with an immobilizer.”<\/p>\n
The stolen vehicle is a black, 2019 Dodge Ram with BC License plate RC0171. Anyone with information regarding the incident or having seen this vehicle should contact the Enderby office of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP at (250) 838-6818 and quote file #2023-6973.<\/p>\n
