Here comes winter.<\/p>\n

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for this Thursday for snow and freezing rain in certain areas of the Thompson-Okanagan.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Nov. 2, the expected snowfall of five to 10 cm will affect driving conditions on the Trans-Canada Highway from the Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass. The freezing rain should affect the Coquihalla Highway from Merritt to Kamloops and the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna.<\/p>\n

These weather conditions might result in slippery and icy road conditions as well as power outages.<\/p>\n

The weather will be felt in the North Okanagan, Salmon Arm, South Thompson, Nicola, and surrounding areas.<\/p>\n

Winter tires have been mandated to drive on the above highways since Oct. 1, 2023, and these weather predictions are expected to result in winter driving conditions.<\/p>\n
