Some of BC’s smallest wineries are celebrating big time after the results of The WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada were released on August 1.<\/p>\n

The announcement included the list for the Top 10 Small Wineries in Canada and for The Best Performing Small Winery of the Year.<\/p>\n

This award is given out to the highest scoring winery producing 10,000 cases a year and this year 8 of the top 10 are BC wineries! <\/p>\n

And the winner of The Best Performing Small Winery of the Year is… Moon Curser Vineyards in Osoyoos!<\/p>\n

Huge congratulations to owners and winemakers Beata and Chris Tolley.<\/p>\n

This is a hugely well-deserved honour for this lovely couple who are making extraordinary wines.<\/p>\n

A minimum of five wines must be entered in order to be eligible for the Top Small Wineries list. The five top-scoring entries (not including Icewine) were used to determine the Best Performing Small Winery and the Top 10 Small Wineries list.<\/p>\n

The WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada (NWAC), the country’s largest competition of Canadian wines, is held annually in mid to late June. Each year, somewhere in Canadian wine country, co-founders Anthony Gismondi and David Lawrason assemble Canada’s leading wine writers, trade buyers and sommeliers to evaluate the current crop of 100 percent Canadian grown and made wines and ciders.<\/p>\n
