When Rustic Reel opened last summer in what was fast becoming Kelowna’s craft brewery district, it brought a fishing theme to the area.<\/p>\n
Next up is Unleashed, a craft brewery under construction almost across the street.<\/p>\n
“The intent of Unleashed Brewing Company is to provide a unique craft beer experience that is based on a brand related to the characteristics of the canines that have been part of the founder’s lives,” states a letter sent to City Hall by Birte Decloux in the company’s application for a lounge liquor licence as part of the project.<\/p>\n
“The desire of the owners is to make this establishment dog-themed, and to provide support to local animal shelters and provide better education and safer homes for rescue dogs.”<\/p>\n
The brewery is under construction in the Clement Business Park, taking over two bays in one of the industrial buildings at 889 Vaughan Ave. It is, according to Google Maps, a one-minute, 120-metre walk from Rustic Reel which, itself, is within walking distance of a number of other craft breweries in the area.<\/p>\n
