One of the Central Okanagan’s newest brewpubs plans to set up shop in Lake Country, far away from the emerging Brewery District in downtown Kelowna.<\/p>\n
Lake Country Brew Pub got the support of Lake Country council this week for its liquor licence application for a new pub in Lake Country Plaza.<\/p>\n
It intends to take over the site of the former Routes Grill in the mall, which fronts on Highway 97, with a 97-seat pub, which includes an outdoor patio.<\/p>\n
Jayson McCarthy, who filed the application, is asking for permission to be open from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. If approved, that would give it a later closing time than both Woody’s Pub and Turtle Bay Pub.<\/p>\n
Food will be offered from a food truck and patrons will be allowed to bring in their own food or from other restaurants.<\/p>\n
The application still needs approval from the B.C. Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch.<\/p>\n
