The Kelowna Farmer's and Crafter's Market is expanding downtown for the season.<\/p>\n
The market announced it will be opening a satellite location in Kerry Park starting on Father's Day, June 20.<\/p>\n
The satellite market will run every Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the park until Sept. 13.<\/p>\n
Social distancing protocols will be in place and masks are recommended, according to the market's Facebook post.<\/p>\n
The weekend market will have between 25 to 30 vendors to start, but the numbers are expected to increase as there's been a lot of interest, said market organizer Frances Callaghan. The first market will also have fewer vendors so organizers can get a feel for how the setup works.<\/p>\n
In previous years, the market was located along Bernard Avenue, but Callaghan said this location was proposed by the city so vendors can be together.<\/p>\n
"We're still part of the downtown core and it's a nice location to be at," she said.<\/p>\n
Produce, artisans, baked goods and more will be available at the market this weekend, she said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
