International Museum Day in Kamloops

The worldwide community of museums will celebrate the 37th Anniversary of International Museum Day around May 18th, 2015.

The International Council of Museums established International Museum Day in 1977 to increase public awareness of the role of museums in the development of society. In 2014, International Museum Day garnered record-breaking participation with more than 35,000 museums hosting events in over 145 countries.

This year in recognition of International Museum Day, the Kamloops Museum & Archives invites visitors to enjoy a free guided museum tour on Saturday, May 16th. The tour will explore the History of Kamloops galleries and talk about the fledgling years. Starting in the Museum’s lobby, tours will run from 11:00 to 11:30 am and again from 2:00 to 2:30 pm. Admission is free.

Visit the International Museum Day official website.
