KAMLOOPS – On May 27 Interior CarShare Co-operative (InCar) will present three engaging short films about carsharing, the share economy and sustainable transportation. The films start at 7pm at the TRU Clocktower and are a part of the “Films for Change” series.
From services like Airbnb to carsharing and even tool-sharing programs, the sharing or "access" economy is being hailed as the next growth sector. InCar will explore collaborative consumption in a film featuring April Rinne, a global expert on the sharing economy; a short film about the concept of carsharing; and an inspiring piece on active and sustainable transportation from CBC's The National.
“There are a lot of people in Kamloops craving a stronger community,” said Dylan Houlihan, acting president of InCar. “These films will demonstrate how we can make some progress in that regard.”
The InCar Triple Feature will start at 7 p.m. (doors at 6:30 p.m.), and will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Christian Brandt, Executive Director of Okanagan Carshare Co-op.
Entry is by donation. The Films for Change series is sponsored by the TRU Office of Sustainability. Refreshments will be available.
