Wet weather won’t stop Kelowna’s weekend of events
KELOWNA – It’s the first busy weekend of the year for events in Kelowna, but those attending the Knox Mountain Hill Climb and Rutland May Days will want to bring jackets and umbrellas.
Showers are expected Saturday through Sunday combined with lows of only 8 Celcius, but that won’t stop these two marquee Kelowna events from taking place this weekend.
Rev up your engines for the annual Knox Mountain Hill Climb starting Saturday at noon. With high-powered cars tearing up the 2.2 km track along scenic Knox Mountain Park, spectators will be treated to gut-wrenching speed and heart-stopping elevation changes.
Friday is also the start of the 54th annual Rutland May Days festival. Sponsored by the Rutland Park Society, May Days is a family event that runs all weekend in Centennial Park. With a parade Saturday at 11 a.m., live music, rides and a pancake breakfast, attendees will have plenty to distract them from the wet weather.
