UPDATE: Rainfall warning ended in Okanagan

OKANAGAN – A rainfall warning issued for the Central and South Okanagan has been ended by Environment Canada.

Forecasters say significant rainfall is no longer expected. The heavy rain has tapered to light and scattered showers.

An upper disturbance brought rain to the entire Okanagan valley overnight and Saturday morning, May 17.

Osoyoos received about 25 millimetres of rain overnight.

The whole valley, including the North Okanagan, received between 15 and 25 mm.

Forecasters had warned heavy downpours were associated with the weather system which could cause flash floods.

Water was pooling on roads and highways, and drivers were asked to slow down.
