Man with handgun arrested
KAMLOOPS – Police took three people into custody Monday afternoon in response to reports of two males fighting involving a handgun.
Investigators responded to the 100 block of Columbia Street for the fight when they were told about a third man who may have a handgun used a possible threat, said Staff Sgt. Dave Lucas in a release today.
A short time later, police saw a man carrying what looked like a black handgun.
"Surveillance was set up on the contained location and the area isolated," Lucas said. "The male and two others persons were taken into custody without incident when they attempted to leave the area."
All three men are known to police. Officers found a small amount of heroin and methamphetamine on at least one of the men, along with a replica handgun.
The investigation is ongoing.
