Hot weather ahead for the Thompson-Okanagan
THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – Dig out your sunscreen and your flip-flops because B.C.’s Interior is in for some unseasonably hot weather over the coming week.
Although the average temperature for the region is in the low 20s from Kamloops all the way south to Penticton, residents can look forward to highs of 29 C with only occasional clouds and minimal chance of showers.
Environment Canada predicts the warmest days will come mid-week, with Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon and Kamloops hitting close to 30 C Wednesday and Thursday.
There is a chance of thunder showers in Kamloops overnight Tuesday but the forecast for Wednesday is sunny and mostly clear. Althought the weekend will be warm in Kamloops, a 60 per cent chance of showers and expected cloud cover might make beach lovers think about heading south for Saturday and Sunday. The weekend forecast for the Okanagan is sunny and warm with highs of around 26 C and only a slight chance of clouds.
