Officials unveil details about Vegas New Year’s spectacular

LAS VEGAS – Officials are unveiling details about the massive party and fireworks show set to light up Las Vegas for New Year’s.

Fireworks are set to launch from the tops of seven Las Vegas Strip resorts during an eight-minute, half-million-dollar show ushering in 2017. The company co-ordinating the show is New York-based Fireworks by Grucci, which plans about 150 fireworks per second.

The official soundtrack includes the traditional “Auld Lang Syne” as well as “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie and “Let’s Go Crazy” by Prince.

Viewers can hear the synchronized music though the fireworks company’s app.

Las Vegas Strip casinos are welcoming a host of stars, including Maroon 5, Sting, the Wu-Tang Clan and Elton John.

An estimated 300,000 to 340,000 visitors are expected in Las Vegas for the festivities.
