FORT MCMURRAY, Alta. – The Alberta government is estimating that wildfire evacuees can start heading back to Fort McMurray as of June 1 as long as certain conditions are met. The re-entry is to be staggered, with people in the least damaged areas needing the fewest supports being allowed back first. Here are the dates Premier Rachel Notley gave in her announcement:
June 1: Lower Townsite, Anzac, First Nations communities
June 2: North Fort McMurray
June 3: South Fort McMurray
June 4: The heavily damaged areas of Abasand and Beacon Hill along with Saprae Creek
