Young Philadelphia drummer’s cover recognized by Metallica

PHILADELPHIA – A 10-year-old Philadelphia drummer is receiving high praise for his cover of a Metallica song that was featured on the heavy metal band’s Instagram page over the weekend.

Daniel Krilov has been playing drums for only two years, but that didn’t stop him from responding to the band’s request for fans to send video of themselves covering a track off their new album.

Krilov, a School of Rock Philadelphia student, posted a one-minute recording of himself drumming to his favourite song, “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct,” to his own page on the social media site last week.

WPVI-TV reports (http://6abc.cm/2gMcgVM ) Metallica reposted the video to its official Instagram page Friday, telling the Holmesburg boy “Nice work dude!”

Krilov’s video was viewed more than 300,000 times on Metallica’s page in just one day.
