Canadian Country Music Awards show set to be held in Saskatoon next year

SASKATOON – The nationally broadcast awards show for Canadian Country Music will make its return to Saskatoon in 2017.

It comes as part of Country Music Week, which will feature several other events promoting country music that will be announced in the new year.

Canada’s biggest country stars, and even some American stars, will be convening in Saskatoon.

Don Green, president of the Canadian Country Music Association, says he is happy to be coming back to Saskatchewan, adding that Saskatoon is one of his top two favorite locations for the show.

The last time Saskatoon hosted the show in 2012, they sold it out and had record attendance for the event.

Dawn Woroniuk, chairwoman of the 2017 Saskatoon Host Committee, says there is always a good Saskatchewan contingent of stars as well.

Tickets go on sale for the show starting Dec. 9.
