FLINT, Mich. – A 24-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of two males whose bodies were found under a door floating in the Flint River in Flint.
The bodies were found July 12 by a fisherman who moved the door so his line wouldn’t get tangled.
Online court records show Robert Wheeler Jr. appeared in court Monday. He was returned to jail without bond and said he would hire an attorney. No lawyer who could speak on Wheeler’s behalf is listed Friday.
Wheeler is also charged with tampering with evidence and a gun crime.
Family members have identified one of the victims as 19-year-old Ted-Mundo Meeks. His mother, Michelle Aguilar, says the other victim was her son’s friend. She says: “They were close.”
