VERNON – All baseball diamonds and soccer pitches in Vernon have been closed because of the rain.
In a release today, June 2, the City of Vernon says all city fields along with Areas B and C and sub-regional sports fields are closed for the day. Beach volleyball is still scheduled for tonight.
A total of 10 to 15 millimetres of rain was expected today with Environment Canada calling for a 60 per cent chance of showers with a risk of a thunderstorm during the day and a 30 per cent chance of showers in the evening and tomorrow. Thursday will bring a 60 per cent chance of showers as well.
