Rockets looking for a new head coach

KELOWNA – After seven seasons behind the bench for the Kelowna Rockets, Ryan Huska is moving on.

Huska is the new head coach of the Calgary Flames’ AHL farm team the Adirondack Flames.

As head coach for the WHL franchise, Huska won 303 regular season games and his teams never finished below .500 including back-to-back team records of 52 and 57 wins over the past two seasons.

"I'm thrilled for him and I think this is long overdue," Rockets President and GM Bruce Hamilton said in a media release.

Huska worked as an assistant coach with Rockets in 2001-03 before taking over as head coach in 2007-08.

Now the team needs to find a new head coach who can live up to Huska’s winning ways.
