Federal workers at airport to get free meals

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Federal workers at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport affected by the partial government shutdown are getting free meals from now until the end of the shutdown.

Starting Friday, lunches will be delivered to employees of the Transportation Security Agency, Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, United States Department of Agriculture and other agencies as needed. Workers also will be able to take home boxed breakfasts and lunches.

Funding is covered by Catholic Charities New Hampshire with food prepared through the Culinary Job Training Program at the New Hampshire Food Bank.

The federal employees are working, despite no income.

The organizations also are offering the opportunity for the public to support impacted federal workers through meal kits and food supplies.
