KAMLOOPS – The Tranquille Road exit ramp was set to reopen next week, but the reopening been postoponed.
The city’s transportation coordinator Colleen Lepik is hoping drivers will be able use the ramp by Thursday, June 11, but says it all depends.
“It’s hard to confirm because of weather conditions,” she says, adding the heavy rain earlier this week was responsible for the delay. Not only were crews unable to pour concrete for curbing, but the weather hasn't allowed concrete to set.
The delay to the first phase of total bridge construction is only a minor setback as the rest of the project remains on schedule, according to Lepik.
Actual bridge construction, including bridge repair and road and sidewalk resurfacing, is expected to take until October.
