UPDATE: Shaw internet restored following outage
THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – Many people in the region started their day with a large internet outage by service provider Shaw Cable and after several long hours service has finally been restored.
According to the support team, the service interruption may have been caused by a problem at the 'hub station', though originally it was thought the fibre optic lines were cut during highway construction.
According to online reports there were outages throughout the Okanagan and Kamloops areas up through the Cariboo region to Prince George, starting shortly before 7 a.m.
The company’s support website was also down for maintenance during that time.
Service was restored shortly before 9:30 a.m.
