Police confirm murder in Penticton suspicious death

PENTICTON – A police investigation into a death on Lakeshore Drive last week in Penticton continues.

RCMP confirmed the suspicious death discovered at Golden Sands Resort early Thursday, June 4, is a homicide.

Media spokesperson Cpl. Dave Tyreman confirmed Tuesday, June 9, police are investigating the incident as a murder.

He says the investigative team met late Monday evening and made a decision not to release any more details of the investigation at this time.

Tyreman says he can't anticipate when more details regarding the murder and subsequent investigation might be forthcoming, noting investigators want to ensure the investigation isn’t compromised by the premature release of information.

On June 4, at approximately 3;30 a.m., Penticton RCMP answered a call of shots fired to a unit at the Golden Sands Resort on Lakeshore Drive in Penticton. When they arrived officers discovered the body of a man, who has not yet been publicly identified.
