KAMLOOPS – RCMP are investigating after a man staying at the Best Western was robbed by a trio armed with a baseball bat this morning.
Cpl. Cheryl Bush says RCMP received a call of a robbery in progress around 7 a.m. at the hotel on Columbia Street West. The victim, who was not injured in the incident, answered a knock at his door and was robbed by two woman and a man with a bat.
As of 8 a.m., several police cars were still stationed at the hotel and another one near the corner of Grandview Terrace and Columbia Street.
No arrests have been made.
Bush says it is too early to tell if this was a targeted robbery and police are not willing to disclose what exactly was stolen at this point.
Police are trying to identify the suspects and are asking anyone with any information to call the Kamloops detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
