KAMLOOPS – Two people have been arrested following an armed robbery at the Best Western hotel in Kamloops last week.

RCMP responded to a robbery shortly after 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, at The Best Western hotel on Columbia Street West.

Cpl. Cheryl Bush says the victim, a guest at the hotel, answered a knock at his door and was subsequently robbed by two females and a male with a baseball bat. The victim was not injured and RCMP began a search for the suspects.

Police have now arrested two of the individuals responsible. Noah Mastalier, 37, and Frances August, 31, are facing charges of break and enter, robbery, possession of a weapon for purposes dangerous to public and unlawful confinement.

The investigation is continuing and police do anticipate a third arrest.

Bush says the suspects are known to Kamloops RCMP, but it doesn’t appear they knew the victim. No information was given regarding what was stolen during the robbery.
