Baltimore officer facing drug trafficking charges

WOODLAWN, Md. – A Baltimore police officer is facing drug trafficking charges in a neighbouring county.

Baltimore County police said in a statement Wednesday that officers spotted a drug transaction in Woodlawn on Tuesday and detained two men. Police say officers learned one man, 34-year-old Spencer Moore, was a Baltimore police officer.

Police say they found more than 100 Oxycodone pills in in the car Moore was driving. Moore is facing drug trafficking charges and is being held without bail. County police say city police worked with them during the investigation.

Acting Baltimore Police Commissioner Gary Tuggle said at a news conference that Moore was already under investigation and had been suspended with pay. He is now suspended without pay.

No attorney is listed for Moore in online court records.
