Record temperatures of 40 C to hit Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – Mother Nature is bringing the heat and as a result records will likely topple this weekend.

Environment Canada is calling for temperatures to hit 40 Celsius over the weekend, and will be in at least the mid-30s through Canada Day. With record highs of 37 C to 40 C over the next week.

Those temperatures will combine with sunshine most days, except Monday when a bit of cloud cover and a chance of showers is being forecast.

The normal high at this time of year is 26 C in Kamloops.

The fire danger rating high currently sits at moderate to high throughout the region with it expected to increase to extreme in some areas over the next few days.
