AUGUST, Ark. – Authorities in Arkansas say a 13-year-old boy fatally shot his mother and that the teen’s grandfather described the killing as an accident.
Woodruff County Sheriff Phil Reynolds tells KATV in Little Rock that deputies are investigating the shooting that happened about 5 p.m. Thursday in Maberry, 55 miles (90 kilometres) northwest of Little Rock.
Authorities have not released the identity of the woman killed.
Reynolds says the boy’s grandfather told deputies the shooting was accidental.
