KAMLOOPS – East Shuswap Road is about to get a bit safer.
The province has announced it will be resurfacing 7.5 kilometres of the roadway, from the turn off to Rivershore Estates and Golf Links to about five kilometres east of Mallard Road. This work is being done because the road currently shows signs of deterioration and cracking.
"East Shuswap Road serves local, recreational, tourist and truck traffic, and these upgrades will make the drive safer and smoother for everyone,” Transportation Minister Todd Stone says in a release.
Work is expected to begin late August with completion set for October.
