BARRIERE – Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects who broke into a rural property near Barriere to steal guns and ammunition last week.
On July 2 a security camera caught footage of two men and a woman walking the property around 3:30 p.m. before a gun safe was pulled out of a wall. The safe contained rifles, a revolver with ammunition and a shotgun.
Despite the power to the camera being cut, it managed to record the images on a backup battery. Footage shows both males were armed — one with a machete and the other with a rifle.
A post on Kamloops Crime Stoppers’ Facebook page says the trio did not have a vehicle and spent around two hours on the property.
If you have any information on the theft or the suspects, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous. To leave tips on the web, visit www.kamloopscrimestoppers.ca.
