VERNON – A female hiker in medical distress was rescued by the Penticton Search and Rescue helicopter team Tuesday afternoon.
A Vernon Search and Rescue team was called to the Enderby Cliffs area for a female in medical distress Tuesday, July 14, and when they arrived they realized an air evacuation would be best because of the extent of her injuries.
The Penticton Helicopter External Transport System was called in around 3 p.m. and by about 5:45 p.m. the team was transporting her back to a waiting ambulance by a long line rescue.
The woman was taken to hospital for treatment. There is no word on the extent of her injuries.
