Warthog art piece reunited with owner

PENTICTON – The owner of a rather unique piece of art is happier than a pig in – well, you know – after finding her lost art treasure this morning, July 15.

Just after 9 a.m., Judy Rowe of Penticton appeared at the Penticton RCMP detachment to claim a metal sculpture of a warthog, Penticton RCMP Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says. Wrigglesworth, who had been trying to find the art piece’s owner, made the pig’s presence known to media the day before. Rowe’s mother saw the photo of the missing piece (Javelina) and contacted her daughter.

“After a lengthy question and answer session regarding the porcine history, it was determined that it was purchased by Rowe in Arizona, much to her spouse’s chagrin,” Wrigglesworth reports.

Rowe claimed her art at the detachment and “reunited by delivering a big smooch to its metallic cheek, proving ownership beyond doubt,” Wrigglesworth says.
